Kathleen E. McLaughlin, LLC
I have continued my life-long devotion and respect for public service by creating a personal, solid law firm within the heart of the community. My goal is to bring back the tradition of "hanging out the shingle" that has all but disappeared in law today. Do you remember the "country doctor?" Well, "I want to be known as the lawyer who makes house calls." I go the extra distance by treating clients like family members, just as I did as a nurse. Because of my medical expertise, I am able to educate my clients and help them truly understand the "nuts and bolts" of their case. This makes them feel more like partners than victims as we pursue their cases together.
My medical knowledge and 30 years of nursing experience is also key in handling Nursing Home Injury cases, Elder Abuse cases and Estate Planning- including Wills, Living Wills, and Power of Attorney. I am able to understand my client's health status, and anticipate their needs.
As a nurse I learned that the ability to take care of adults, children and their families during physical and emotional crisis is a privilege and a "gift" that carries with it serious responsibilities. One, to treat, second to inform, how and why they will be treated and third, to be sure they understand.
My responsibility toward my legal clients is no different. My goal is to "take good care" of my clients, just as I would my patients. When you are my client, you are in "my care." Of course, the "treatment" is different, but the goal is the same: to make my clients' "journey" from injury to litigation safe, smooth and cost-effective.
